Deja vu
Amsterdam-based artist Maria Pask is creating a newly commissioned film inspired by Rose Hill's local newsletter Roundabout produced in the 1950's-60's. Recreating the past within the context of a contemporary Rose Hill she hopes to unite a collective memory of the estate and its heritage and reposition Roundabout's idealistic aspirations.
Pask's film will be a mini-drama filmed on location in Rose Hill with residents and local & international actors, re-staging some of the events documented in Roundabout. The characters in the film will find themselves both observing and participating in past incidents that feel like the present.
We are looking for local residents (you don't have to live in Rose Hill) to take part in the re-staged events. For more information look at TAKE PART.
The newly commissioned film will be presented at Modern Art Oxford from 17 April until 13 June 2010.
